A close reading is a close analysis of a text; looking beneath the surface of the words and finding a deeper meaning, and really your own meaning and understanding. It's purpose is just that, to find a meaning in the text and to have a relationship with the text. I actually learned a lot about myself through Inquiry I. I thought the final draft was due this Tuesday so I wrote my final and for the rough draft I wasn't really sure where it was going but once I got to the final I really hit upon something and went with it. I discovered a root to some ideas and feelings I've had about the perfect guy finding me and sweeping me off my feet. And I found that I feel cheated having had this idea forced upon me.
